FOUNDER ~ Ashley Reed
Yoga came into Ashley's life at the time when she needed it the most. The uncertainties of life had come crashing down and left her searching for something more. She connected with a local donations based studio in DTLA and immediately knew that she was home. Daily practice led to the realization that her focus on a fast-paced career had allowed her to neglect her physical, spiritual and mental health. She fell in love with how her body and soul began to flourish as a result of her practice. She silently vowed to herself that she would one day become a teacher of this practice that had so greatly changed her life. She received her 200 hour certification at Yoga Bliss. She chose to expand her practice by receiving an additional 50 hour certification with Lit Yoga and 100 hour Rocket Yoga with BLM Rocket Yoga. She has a passion for sharing the benefits of yoga with her community by holding space for healing and cultivation of healthy lifestyles while focusing on building culturally relevant community spaces.
Big thank you to The Variety Group for featuring Body Art Noire in their series Eyes of LA ~ highlighting local businesses.
I absolutely love Ashley’s classes at Body Art Noire. I suffer from weak wrists due to carpal tunnel surgery. After just one month of taking her classes I can feel the strength increasing as downward facing dog has gotten easier to hold. She encourages all students to go at their own pace, listen to their bodies and take breaks when needed.
